Commitment to Education
Scholarship graphicThe Board of Directors of the IWCS has elected to establish a long-term Commitment to Education through scholarships.

See our July 29, 2010 Press Release for more details.

Endowments have been established at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte which will eventually support the annual award of two scholarships at each institution.

While building the endowments, the IWCS is contributing funds for current scholarships at each university, with two $3000 scholarships to be awarded with immediate effect at each school. The universities each plan to participate in the International Cable - Connectivity Symposium when it is in their respective vicinity, promoting their research capabilities, and seeking internships and post-graduate employment for their students.

The IWCS encourages interested companies to help build the endowments through their own contribution to the IWCS Scholarship Endowments. More information is available by contacting the IWCS office.

Previous IWCS Scholarships
The IWCS is proud of its long history of awarding scholarships. Since 1994, the IWCS has offered scholarships to encourage high school and college students majoring in the science or engineering discipline relating to the wire and cable industry.

Two major Scholarships were periodically available:
  • The Elmer F. "Ace" Godwin Memorial Scholarships created to honor the long-serving Director of the IWCS, and
  • The Christopher Kenneth Eoll Memorial Scholarship endowed in honor of an active participant of the IWCS and a Siecor employee.
A complete listing of all scholarship recipients from 1994 to the present can be found HERE.

NOTE: These scholarships were available to students within the United States as well as to international high school and college students.
